"The day"

After October 18, it is clear that something changed in the society of this “country at the end of the world”. The first days was a duality between hope and uncertainty, between fear and courage, between hate and joy. I think we all grew a little, we met our neighbors more closely and we got involved with our community. Really trying to express the accumulation of emotions that have been felt in full bloom is complex and practically impossible. Nervousness and anxiety have been further accentuated, especially during the first weeks. Although I often didn't want to go out, because I was tired or terribly anxious, I managed to organize with my neighbors and go to activities near my house. Most days I went to Dignity Plaza, where, frankly, I felt afraid of dying. Yes, I was struck by pellets . I have aspirated pepper gas. I have experienced repression. Academic Bio Data

Camila Ayala Ramirez is a Chilean Social Worker specializing in a penitentiary area and Reintegration Social. She study social work and the specialization about penitentiary area in University of Chile in the Social Science department between 2018 and 2024. The specialization of Reintegration Social she study it in University National Autonomous of Mexico in 2025. Camila too has a English certification for from Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) in the level C1. Currently she works in the Penal Public Defense (DPP) of Chile and she is formulating a project with academics from different areas and private liberty person and his family about the transform the reality of the situation in the penitentiary. Ayala have not any publication because she has dedicated her life to work with the persons of the neighborhood although she not exclude publish paper in the future.
